He went from persecuting Jesus to preaching Jesus, 1Co 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. 

When Paul was saved on the Road to Damascus, He met Christ and from that moment he had a message to preach. He did not need to be instructed. Paul was fighting against Christ, 1:13, For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it: Jesus said to Paul, It is hard for thee to kick against the pricks = To fight against the Spirit of God.
